Text

Harkin Lloyd Solicitors have been nominated for the prestigious title of Law Firm of The Year at the forthcoming Law Society event to be held on the 9th June 2007.

Nominations were received from all local firms and an independent panel of judges had the task of sifting out entrants. Harkin Lloyd have been short listed as well as national firms DLA Piper and Brabners.

Harkin Lloyd were established in October 2004 and the bedrock of the practice was and still is client care. Both partners, Jean Harkin and Rachel Lloyd focus on the needs of clients. This approach to client care is echoed by all the staff and ensures that each client is given a first class service.

As well as client care the partners believe in investing in tomorrow’s lawyers by actively encouraging young people into the profession. The practice welcomes youngsters for work experience and believes that a hands on approach gives youngsters a taste of what working in practice is like.  Jean Harkin, managing Partner who is also being nominated for Managing Partner of the year stated.

“Both Rachel and I enjoy being solicitors and if we can encourage youngsters to follow into the profession then we believe we should. We offer hands on work experience placements that give individuals responsibility and we make them feel part of the team. ”

The practice also offers pro bono work and often attends Coroners inquests for clients, free of charge following deaths in industrial disease matters and fatal car accidents. Harkin Lloyd have also applied to be one of the panel firms on the rota scheme at Liverpool Coroner’s court which is currently being arranged through Liverpool Law society, this rota will ensure that families are offered representation, free of charge at inquests in Liverpool.
